It was initially an event for local charities to drum up funds & residents to have an opportunity to get together, scoff sausages, washed down with a cold beer or a lovely cuppa & homemade cake, rummage through 'bric a brac' & hope to take home the much coveted win from the dog show!
Over the years it has grown into something so much more, don't worry we still have sizzling sausages, homemade cake, cold beer, bric a brac & a dog show but it is now also a very much needed fundraiser for the village. All profits go directly to the village, local groups & charities.
We are a completely new committee apart from our three boys who have stayed on (thankfully!). We come with many new ideas & much gumption...so come along & have a gander! You won't be disappointed. If you just can't wait please keep reading to find out what you can expect & who is involved! We look forward to welcoming you.

'Fayre's are such an expensive day out' I hear you cry! Yes...they absolutely can be! Alongside raising funds for the village we are also committed to make it a fabulous day out for the whole family without breaking the bank. There are going to be so many amazing things to partake in or watch that will not cost you a penny. Due to our wonderful sponsors & our partners we are able to provide entertainment at a substantially lower rate.
Here are just a few of the very exciting things we have planned for you. If you would like to attend St James's Church roaming Sunday service on the green this will be taking place just before the opening of the fayre...there are whispers it will be our new vicar's inauguration!! Please follow our social media for updates.
If that doesn't take your fancy you might be interested in...a JCB Digger,

The much loved DOG SHOW...even if your pooch is Hairy Maclary or Fenton we don't care bring them along it is all a bit of fun & you might even win!
Fun Sports Day Games

Come & 'Meet the Makers' some of our fabulously talented makers have agreed to show you their art! Ever wanted to throw a pot on a clay wheel? Well you can! Or want to learn the fine art of silver jewellery making...yes, yes we have that to!
Do you love music? Local musical talent overload...we have AMAZING bands & a soloist to keep you swaying those hips & tapping your feet all day.
It is starting to sound like fun...isn't it?! But wait...there is more!
The egg throwing game (a personal favourite)
Ponies & Carts (£3 per little person)
Crockery smashing, glitter face tattoos, candy floss, a human fruit machine...it's really starting to sound like a fayre now!
For those of you who just want to come & eat cake & drink tea....we have plenty! There will also be so many stalls you won't know what to look at first, honey, wine, scented candles, gin, bric a brac, jewellery, plants, fresh cut flowers, art, crafts, homewares, clothes...you name it we think we have it covered!
Come hungry & thirsty....we have a twist on the BBQ menu & of course the beer, pimms & cocktails will be flowing...
Don't panic you won't miss a thing, everything will be put in handy little booklet to get you through the days entertainment.
'Leaving only last memories' , we hope these are good ones. As so many of us are jumping on the wagon to try & pedal backwards we are taking into great consideration what footprint our fayre leaves on the planet. Are we net zero...no....are we close, no! What we do know is we are making a substantial effort to leave little impact. We have
'Leaving only last memories' , we hope these are good ones. As so many of us are jumping on the wagon to try & pedal backwards we are taking into great consideration what footprint our fayre leaves on the planet. Are we net zero...no....are we close, no! What we do know is we are making a substantial effort to leave little impact. We have aligned ourselves with 'Plastic Free Farnham'.
We are doing our best to be single use plastic free at the fayre. We have teamed up with 'Blue Planet Washing Solutions' & will be using reusable plastic cups from 'Goode Cups', BPWS provide for stadiums & festivals so we are in good company! There will be a deposit system in place to ensure the return of the cups.
For the rest of the waste we use 'Chambers' skip hire who typically in their sorting process can divert 99% of the waste away from landfill. We think this is pretty cool & quite an achievement.
'Plastic Free Farnham' will be at the fayre to give you an insight into what the future of Farnham could look like!
You may have noticed on the brick tunnel when driving towards Guildford scrawled in graffiti, something along the lines of, 'What difference can one person make said 6 billion people?'. (Have a think on that....2000 people come to our fayre)
It just sounds like too much fun not to be apart of!?
